And in the beginning, there was no debt

Do I remember a time when I had no debt? Sure, I was a kid!

Truly, I cannot recall a time where my parents, peers or school teachers ever really sat down to discuss finances, investing, debt, credit cards, taxes or ever basic budgeting. I mean honestly, how many of us left high school fully prepared to take on the rigors of adulthood when it comes to money, let alone your financial future? I think the numbers are slim and based on the current national consumer debt, my theory is likely accurate. If you were fortunate enough however, to have someone in your life who guided you at a young age in this arena, consider yourself one of the lucky ones and may you prosper and share that knowledge with others! For me, I learned the hard way.

Years of paycheck to paycheck, 60+ hours a week, working up the corporate ladder and making more only to spend more, finally brought me to the realization that I didn't quite have the tools I needed in my toolkit.  Add a handful of kids in there, school expenses, a Master's degree education, inflation and the journey was only becoming harder. By age 30 I realized I was drowning in debt.

This journey, and all the hardship however, was the start of a new endeavor; one to learn what I hadn't been taught, get myself out of the financial hole I was in and help others to do the same. And thus, Debt with Jenn was born. A one stop, consumer advocacy and financial tools hub of resources to provide anyone who isn't happy with their situation, all the options to get out of debt and start living with financial freedom.

There is abundance and wealth in learning from the errors of others. Join me as I share my journey in the world of debt.
